OPEN CLASS SHEEP

JUDGING - SATURDAY, JULY 30, 2011 - 5:00 P.M.
1. The following classes will be provided: Columbia, Commercial (sections 6, 7, 8 and 9 only), Suffolk, Corriedale, Oxford, Montadale, Dorset, Southdown, Shropshire, Cheviot, Hampshire, and Shetland.
2. Pre-registration is due by the first day of the Fair either to the Fair office or the superintendent. Late entries will be accepted until noon on the day of the show.
3. An entry fee will be payable with entry form: Breeding sheep - $3.00 Morgan County entries and $5.00-out of county entries; Market Lambs - $5.00 Morgan County entries and $10.00-out of county entries. Ewe lambs shown in breeding classes are not eligible to show in Section 15 - Market Lambs.4. Arrival Time for Open Class Sheep is SATURDAY, JULY 30 - 9:00 A.M. UNTIL 12:00 NOON, only.
5. Market lambs will be weighed at 1:00 p.m. and then divided into the four weight classes.6. Morgan County 4-H exhibitors showing in the open sheep show may check in their sheep from 7-9 pm on Thursday, July 28 or Saturday, July 30, during posted arrival times for open sheep. 4-H sheep must be entered for the open show with fees paid prior to unloading.
7. During show, aisles MUST be free of trimming stands to allow movement to show ring.
8. Unless noted otherwise, all breeding stock will be shown according to the Indiana State Fair open class rules for that particular breed. Decisions of the show judge and/or the superintendent are final.9. If there are not three or more exhibits, and two or more exhibitors in a class, a first place ribbon and second place money will be awarded.
10. NEW IN 2011: Open showmanship classes will be offered
in a jackpot format. There will be four classes. Class 1 is for
anyone up to second grade. Class 2 is for grades 3 through 5. Class
3 is for grades 6 through 8, and Class 4 is for grade 9 up to anyone who is less
than 21 years old as of the date of the show. Entry fee is $5 per
participant. Premium will depend on the number of entrants, with 100% of
the entry fees per class awarded to the class winner. Entries must be made
before noon on show day. Showmanship classes will take place between the
Market Lamb show and the Breeding Stock show.
